High Quality Learning and Teaching

Indicators:

- Learners work together with others  from different genders, nationalities, ethnic groups, religions, differing abilities and body shapes.

- Learners are formally and informally assessed regularly in order to make sure that each student's needs are met.

- Learners learn in  environments that reflect various cultures and backgrounds.

-  Learners demonstrate an openness to the world and recognition of our deep interconnectedness to others during the class learning, all other school related activities.

Indicators

- Learners make 'mistakes' as an expected part of the learning process.

- Learners receive regular and timely feedback on their academic progress.

- Learners are assessed through different modes both formal and informal, including, written tests, live and/or digital presentations, discussions, debates, etc

- Learners are provided with learning opportunities appropriate to their age and/or developmental levels?

Indicators:

- Learners develop emotionally with support from the Community (Learner Profile Awards, Student Reflection Time) under the guidance of the Well-Being team.

- Learners develop a range of soft-skills (polite manner, work ethic) through activities and events both inside and outside the classroom.

- Learners experience thematic courses that include multiple perspectives and may include field trips.

- Learners experience a range of sports, field trips and activities that help physical development.

- Learners are proactively involved in activities.

Learners respond to a provocation activity (photo, video, piece of writing) to form connections

- Learners are assessed using a checklist or a rubric to explore problems in "real-world" situations through active inquiry/investigation and work to achieve a solution.

- Learners work in pairs or groups to present on a topic.

- Learners work together to understand and resolve problem through active research, experimentation or trial and error.

- Learners communicate concepts and ideas with other members of their learning community (peers, teachers, parents).

- Learners have opportunities to collaboratively ask and answer questions.

- Learners enact listening skills and share in collective discussions.

- Learners apply previously acquired skills and understandings  in new ways and/or in different contexts.

- Learners formulate their own conclusion using critical thinking skills to solve challenges. 

- Learners can present relevant information effectively in various forms.

- Learners adapt knowledge to enrich the learning experience of themselves and their learning community (peers).

- Learners can effectively evaluate the validity and reliability of information for purposeful application.
