HOUSES
The school is divided into subunits called "Houses" and each student is allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment. Green is for Vipers, blue is for Wolves, orange is for Foxes, and red is for Dragons. The four house teams reinforce leadership and teamwork. The House system also helps students to further develop their social skills with the students across the school. During the academic year, students will participate in friendly competitions in their Houses, and they also participate in various collective activities designed by their head of House. The House with the highest score at the end of the year wins the annual House Cup.
At CAIS the whole is divided into 4 subunits called "Houses" and each student is allocated to one house at the moment of enrollment. The House System is composed of 4 teams called the Wolves, the Vipers, the Dragons and the Foxes, that reinforces leadership and teamwork as well as enabling students to further develop their social skills with other students across the grade levels in the school.
Houses may compete with one another at sports but also in various type of competitions where the students can showcase their ability to design, speak, write, perform, organize, provide services, etc. We strive to maximize the types of activities during which students compete so they can blossom as well-rounded individuals.
The House System is composed of 4 teams that establish reinforces leadership and teamwork as well as enables students to further develop their social skills with the students across the school. This not only encourages students to demonstrate the different skills they have learned in school but also creates a more cohesive community as it helps to break down perceived barriers between students and age groups.
The House System allows students to work together from different age groups and different classes by contributing in different ways to something other than individual or personal success.
Over the whole year there are 8 major events that the students can get involved in. For example, “Sports Day”, “International Day”, “Earth Day” and “Dragon Boat Festival”, etc. During these events organized by House Captains, and supervised by the school staff, members of different house can score points. Points can also be awarded during class competition and tournaments happening over breaks. At the end of the year, the house with the most amount of points is awarded a plaque showcased in the Hall of Fame.
The final standing for the 2023-2024 House Cup is as follows:
HOUSE logo design competition
At the start of the 2019/20 academic year, the Head of House in Secondary organized a logo design competition that was open to al of CAIS. Entries were submitted by students from both Primary and Secondary. The entries were judged and and voted on by both students and staff. Since then we proudly display the winning logos during house competitions.
In our design, we wanted to capture a mature spirit, but it should still look sympathetic and interesting. To keep the logo interesting and special, we decided to use simple and abstract forms.
As the frame of the logo would’ve made it less abstract and simple, we decided to just make a cross to connect all logos. In the end, we also tried to give each animal a kind of round shape, so that they have something in common.
The meaning of this logo is to show how simplicity and abstract art can let somebody get lost in an image, or, in this case, in a logo.
The tree in the middle is the CAIS tree, which represents the school. That means there are both new and old signs that represent our school.
