Changchun American International School is an IB continuum international school in the Northeast of China. CAIS offers all of the IB programs (Nursery to K2, PYP, MYP, and DP) accepting students aged between 2 and 19 years old. English is the language of instruction at CAIS and all teachers are qualified and experienced.
IB programmes are recognized around the world and ensure an increased adaptability and mobility for IB students.
The curriculum and pedagogy of IB programmes focus on international perspectives of learning and teaching, while insisting students fully explore their home culture and language.

Many students graduating from the Diploma Programme find that it enhances their opportunities at tertiary institutions. The IB works closely with universities around the world to gain recognition for IB programmes.

The school has a language support department (EAL) that provides addition language support to students who require it.
All teachers at CAIS are language teachers. Teachers must explicitly teach the language of their subject.
The school respects and fosters all students’ mother tongues in order to ensure that they continue to develop their understanding in all subject areas as they develop their English.
The school enrolls all students who are between 2-19 years old. For those from Nursery to PYP2 students need to be interviewed by the Principal or Coordinators. PYP3 and up students need to take an Entrance Examination.
