German
At Changchun American International School, we offer German classes across the Primary Years Program (PYP) as part of our multilingual education for German native speakers. We instruct students through a combination of the IB (International Baccalaureate) PYP framework and the elementary curriculum from the German state of Thuringia. We also use a wide variety of authentic resources from Germany.
We follow the German curriculum to ensure students are developing the same skills as stipulated in the Thuringia syllabus; such as German grammar, reading comprehension, grade level-appropriate writing skills, and cursive writing.
The content of our German classes is based on the IB framework and the teaching units are integrated alongside core subjects.
The PYP German program prepares the students for both a continued path in IB education as well as a seamless transition into the German secondary school system.
We are proud to be able to provide our German students with the opportunity to stay in touch with their native language and culture while also being surrounded by a multitude of other nationalities. We strive for our students to become genuinely multilingual and internationally-minded, and to be the best versions of themselves.
