At the time of publishing CAIS employs 60 full-time expatriate teachers, including three IB Programme Coordinators, one librarian, three Principals, a Head of School and two part-time teachers. CAIS also employs over 20 local Chinese teachers to teach Mandarin, violin and sports, and over 20 teaching assistants. The German Section (DISC) employs a further 10+ expatriate staff.
CAIS recruits only through reputable international educational recruitment organizations such as International Staffing Services (ISS) and Search Associates and attends international educational Recruitment Fairs every year. As a minimum requirement, CAIS teachers must hold relevant qualifications and have at least two years experience. However most teachers greatly exceed this requirement and the average experience is 8-10 years.
As part of the China visa process, ALL expatriates have their qualifications checked and authenticated by the Chinese authorities and teachers must provide criminal record clearances.
CAIS is a wholly legal entity, registered with both national, regional and local governments. All CAIS teachers are qualified in their field and to teach in China. All CAIS teachers are fully, legally registered as Foreign Experts with the Department of Foreign Affairs, and are contracted with CAIS.
Over 70 individual official IB workshops are provided to the teaching faculty in one academic year, including onsite and online.
